The RPA ICS provides the Clinical Emergency Response Service for the hospital, responding to all patients on the ward who trigger the emergency response system with either worsening or concerning clinical observations, or staff concern. A highly trained ICU nurse and an ICU registrar or Specialist attends all calls. It is designed to detect deterioration in patients early and provide them with expert critical care in a timely manner.
